In honor of my batmitzvah, my family sponsored an evening for girls of batmitzvah age who have lost their fathers either because of the war or other circumstances. The girls all came with their mothers, and did an art project together, along with dinner, followed by receiving a special gift of a personalized set of machzorim so that this Rosh Hashana, the girls can daven from their own special machzor and pray for a better year, for happier times.
